Randal Og v Lismire - 2017-04-23 17:20:00

The footballers had a good win against Lismire at Carrigadrohid on Saturday evening, 22nd April. This was the second round of the County junior B championship, Randals having got a bye and Lismire losing to Kilbrin in the first round.

Randals, winning possession from the throw in, were quickly into the attack and Gearoid White raced through to send over a point in the opening seconds.

Scores were slower in coming after that. Owen O'Sullivan pointed from a free after eight minutes. Seadhna Crowley, gaining possession from a Paraic White block down, added another and Gearoid White made it four up near the end of the quarter hour.

Lismire lifted their game coming up to half time. Twenty four minutes gone, they were through on goal but Fergal Kelly was quickly off his line and well positioned to bring off an outstanding save. They did get their first score, a point, a minute later but Brian Dullea, who was having a great game at midfield, replied quickly and it was 0-5 to 0-1 at the break.

The second half was more or less a repeat of the first. The Randals' defence coped with everything that came their way as the lead increased slowly but surely at the other end. Conor O'Donovan got points in the fifth and fifteenth minutes and Shane Patterson, with another a minute later, made it 0-8 to 0-1. Owen O'Sullivan did all the scoring over the next period, a point from a free on nineteen minutes, a great goal a minute later and another pointed free on twenty two minutes.

Lismire, who never gave up, had the last score, a point, a few minutes from the end.

At full time it was:   Randal Og  1-10   Lismire  0 -2.
