Under 21 football championship: Randals v Dohenys - 2018-03-27 20:00:00

The under 21 football championship match between Randal Og and Dohenys, originally scheduled for St. Patrick's Day, was played on Saturday last, 24th March, at Castletownkinneigh.

It was one of the days on which the rain stayed away. 

After a hard fought low scoring first half, Randals were ahead by 1-2 to 0-1. 

Owen O'Sullivan had the first score, a point, after five minutes with Dohenys getting the equaliser arouind the quarter hour mark.

Randals were defending well and the scores eventually started coming.

Donncha Collins struck for his first goal on eighteen minutes and Owen O'Sullivan sent over from a free coming up to half time.

Dohenys narrowed the gap, with a point, within ten minutes of resumption. Donncha Collins lobbed home his second goal a minute later and Owen O'Sullivan pointed another free with thirty seven minutes gone.

A point for Dohenys was quickly followed by Randals' third goal, finished off by Conor O'Neill, to make it 3-3 to 0-3.

The scoring rate increase during the final quarter, which opened with another Owen O'Sullivan point,. before Dohenys got through for their first goal.

However Randals ,with points from Owen O'Sullivan, Daire Hayes, Owen O'Sullivan again and Donncha Collins, had a commanding lead going into the final minutes.

Dohenys got a point back and they added a late goal to leave the full time score:   Randal Og  3-8  Dohenys  2-4.

The Randals line out was:     Ciaran Murray, Conor O'Connell, Tomas White, Diarmuid Hayes, Conor O'Donovan, Cian O'Neill, Seamus Crowley, Cathal Duggan, Conor O'Neill, Donncha Collins, Martin Murphy, Owen O'Sullivan.

Subs:  Ronan Daly, Daniel O'Sullivan, Daire Hayes, Ted Nyhan, Patrick O'Donnell.
