Hurling league - Randals v O'Donovan Rossa - 2018-04-18 15:14:00

The hurlers travelled to Skibbereen on Sunday afternoon last, for league game versus O'Donovan Rossa.

Conditions were not great. There was showery rain, backed by a blustery south westerly wind, right through the game but it  was  well fought and evenly contested with some great scores despite that .

Seadhna Crowley, taking a pass from Johnny Collins, sent over the first point in the opening minute.

Two O'Donovan Rossa points, from frees, put them ahead and it was really score for score up to half time. Johnny Collins' equaliser on eight minutes was quickly replied to, but two points from Seadhna Crowley put Randals into the lead again.

Skibb came back for two more points, one from a free, but in between, Donncha Collins set up Seadhna Crowley for another and got one himself from an acute angle,

Eoin O'Donovan and Seadhna Crowley were on target again before half time to make it 0-8 all.

Scores were scarce during the second half. Randals now had the wind behind them, even though it was blowing diagonally,  and the defence conceded for the remainder of the game.

An early point from O'Donovan Rossa put them back in the lead.  Eoin O'Donovan sent over from a sixty five and then added two more to make it  0-11 to 0-9 at the end of the third quarter.

Colm McSweeney and Seadhna Crowley put Randals four in front. An O'Donovan Rossa point from a free came late in the game.
