Football championship - Randals v Bandon - 2018-08-15 19:43:00

The junior football semi-final, Randals versus, Bandon was played at Ahiohill on Friday evening last, 10th August. 

A game of two halves it was, with Randals in flying form in the first half, gaining an early lead and ahead at half time. 

Eoin o'Sullivan got the first score, a point shortly after throw in, and Seadhna Crowley got another two minutes later.

Bandon got a point from a free in the fifth minute.

Johnny Collins set up and finished off the first goal of the game, bursting through to send a low hard shot to the corner of the net. Eoin O'Sullivan and Seadhna Crowley were on target again to make it 1-4 to 0-1 with ten minutes gone.

Johnny Collins was winning everything that came his way, but Bandon's accuracy at the other end began to tell.  They got two points back, before Sam Kingston sent over Randal's fifth point, and then they took over for a period to score five points in succession.

It was level scores with about twenty minutes gone.

Randals lifted the siege and Patrick Lynch pointed to regain the lead. Gerard Lynch sent over two more from frees and Eoin O'Sullivan made it it 1-9 to 0-8 coming up to half time.

Bandon had the upper hand for most of the second half. Scores were level at the end of the third quarter, as Gerard Lynch pointed another free to regain the lead - 1-10 to 0-12.

Two points from frees for Bandon and then came their goal after twenty minutes to put them 1-14 to 1-10 ahead.

A brilliant save by Ciaran Murray denied them a second goal but they added on five more points in the remaining ten minutes.

Randals had the last word, with a well taken Conor O'Donovan goal, close to the final whistle.
