Randal Og 3:15      Laochra Og 0:05

The second round of the county junior b hurling championship saw Randal’s lining out against Laochra Og at Newcestown on Saturday evening.

It was not like a typical June evening with very heavy rain and a south easterly wind which had some effect on the game. Laochra Og had the wind advantage in the first half, but its benefit was minimal.

Sean Daly opened the scoring with a point from a free in the second minute. Laochra Og got an equaliser from a free five minutes later. Seadhna Crowley got two to give Randal’s the lead which they never lost. Two more points from Seadhna & Patrick Crowley were followed by three from Laochra Og to make it 0:05 to 0:04 at half time.

Randal’s were dominant in the second half, scores from Sean Daly, Seadhna Crowley and Donnacha Collins with the first goal of the game left it 1:12 to 0:04 after fifteen minutes. Two goals in the last quarter by Sean Daly and Cathal Duggan, with Patrick Crowley and Donnacha Collins adding three more points.

Laochra Og got one point in the second half late on the hour mark to leave it 3:15 to 0:05 at the full time whistle
